Well everyone, I have now been with out one of my best friends at school for about 20 days now, and I have not even talked to him yet, Paul Saulnier and I use different forms of communication. I use Google Talk, and he naturally uses Live Messenger. I unfortunately will only use Live if I absolutely need to, for instance I don’t even have it installed on my machine at home. There are many reasons why I don’t like Live Messenger:

  1. It is bulky. A generic install running with an average of two windows open. Idles at no less then 50MB of ram used… too much for my liking. World of Warcraft only uses 300 and that is a game!
  2. Two, it has numerous features that do not apply to nor interest me. Nudges, and other annoying features all add to the bulk point above.
  3. Three, Winks. Most. Useless. Thing. Ever.
  4. Four, a generic installer that doesn’t have any options. In a perfect world I should be able to choose which parts I want to install. For instance if I only want the UI and TEXT messenging, I should be able to choose that. If I want a full install I should be able to do that as well.
  5. Five, anyone that wants to talk to me already has my GMail, and should just email me. Why do I need to be always on a client where anyone can message me? Passports are one good thing that came of the MSN. I do concede that fact. But, still, the point stands. People today, have cell phones, home phones, and email, why do we need to be tethered to a client that people can write short emails to me. I have an email to do that with.

I forgot that I had this draft… and forgot to post it. It was all about my dislike for MSN messenger, which I am proud to say that I have not used MSN knowingly for a while now… close to 4 month.

Anywho. Posted
